John B. Clemmer was a son of William H. Clemmer and Mary Ann (Ensley) Clemmer. He married Emma Elizabeth Sewell at Massie, TX, on December 21, 1903, and the following year they moved to Hamilton.
He was a Methodist and a retired farmer. He was the father of seven sons and a daughter--W. B., Wayne, Johnnie, Malvin, Alvin, J. M. and Jesse Clemmer and Mrs. C. O. Henderson.
In addition to his wife and children and one grandson, he was survived by two brothers and two sisters--W. H. and Arthur Clemmer, Mrs. Annie McAnelly, and Mrs. R. M. Sewell.
