She was born on May 19, 1923 in West Hazleton, daughter of the late Henry and Stella Tobias.
Pearl was a life-long member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in West Hazleton.
Active in the community, Pearl served as treasurer of the West Hazleton Crime Watch for six years.
She was devoted to her family and was a very loving mother. She was a great cook, enjoyed polka dancing, and loved watching ballroom dancing and General Hospital.
She will be best remembered by her sweet spirit and her beautiful smile.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Evancho, who died on January 18, 1984; and her brothers Richard, Edward and Henry Tobias.
Pearl is survived by her son Eugene Evancho of West Hazleton, with whom she resided; her daughter Kathleen Wagner of Shelby, North Carolina; and her grandchildren Heather and Jonathan Wagner of
Austin, Texas.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the John J. Pusti Funeral Home, Inc., 480 West Broad Street, Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton.
Interment in the parish cemetery, West Hazleton.
