Florence E. Ness
YORK - Florence E. (Krantz) Ness, 75, of York Township, died at 3 p.m. Monday at her home. She was the wife of Robert C. Ness Jr. The couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary in December.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ness was born June 8, 1923, in Greenville, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Augustus and Bonnie (Tucker) Krantz.
She was a clerk at Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1984 after 12 years of service. Prior to that, she worked at York Hospital and at the downtown office of Drovers Bank. She attended First Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Ness also is survived by a son, Robert "Randy" Ness of York; a daughter, Rogenia Meekins of York; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ness was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynda Schleeter.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dwayne Campbell, pastor of First Assembly of God Church.
