Jennie Kummer 1912-2002
Jennie Kummer, 90 of Great Bend, died Nov. 11 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. She was born March 4, 1912, the daughter of Henry and Katherine Krier Schartz. She married Walter H. Kummer on Oct. 21, 1933, at Ellinwood. He died Aug. 26, 1978. She married William C. "Bill" Johannes on April 7, 1984, at Great Bend. He died March 23, 1986. A resident of Great Bend, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Kummer was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rose Altar Society and Garden Club, all of Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Tom Kummer of Great Bend; one daughter, Kathleen Lutz of Great Bend; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Altar Society Rosary will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Angel Dy officiating. Burial will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 pm.
