Mrs. P. McDermott died suddenly at her home in this city Sunday evening Feb. 15, aged 92 years. Deceased was born in County Monaghan, Ireland and came to this country in 1847 and settled at New Diggings. Later on she moved to Seymour where she raised a family of nine children, namely, Owen, Sarah, and Mrs. Lonergan of this city, Michael and Frank of Luverne, Minn., Mrs. Nichol of Kingsley, Iowa, Patrick, Bowman, N.D., Mrs. Fisk, Red Lake, S.D., and Mrs. Dunlavy of Seymour, Ill., all of whom attended the funeral.
Mrs. McDermott was widely known throughout the county, and enjoyed the friendship and respect of many, who will learn with sorrow of her death, and extend sympathy to the members of the bereaved family. The funeral was held from the Catholic church this morning and the remains lain to rest in the cemetery at Kendalltown.
