Paulene Helton Fritts, 71, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Second Baptist Church, 419 N. Buchanan St., with Dr. Charles Jones and the Rev. Wayne Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.

Mrs. Fritts was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Ralls to R.L. and Paula Helton. She graduated in 1958 from Union High School.

She married the love of her life, Cecil Fritts, in 1969 in Amarillo. They celebrated their 42nd anniversary on Valentine's Day. Paulene and Cecil were members of Second Baptist Church for almost 20 years, as well as the Good News Bearers at the church.

Paulene was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Mammaw."

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Martha.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil; a son, Tim Garris and wife Connie; four grandchildren, Leticia Mincher and husband Randy, Melissa Kabetzke and fiance Melvin Lowe, Natasha Garris and Nathan Garris; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Helton of Amarillo; and six sisters, Louise Helton and Yvonne Barnes, both of Amarillo, Bonita Martin of Kokomo, Ind., Sue Carnley of Karnes City, Shirley Oleson of Kenedy and Barbara Woods of Castroville.

The family suggests memorials be to Second Baptist Church, 419 N. Buchanan St. Amarillo, TX 79107; Susan G. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 50610, Amarillo, TX 79159; or The Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
