Bette Meola

AUSTINBURG — Bette Meola, age 80, a resident of Austinburg Rehabilitation Center and former resident of Ashtabula, died Saturday evening, April 10, 2010, at the center.
Born May 9, 1929, in Vernon Township, Ohio, she was the daughter of Edward and Yuba (Wright) Dodge.
Bette was a licensed cosmetologist and ran Bette's Beauty Shop, owned with her husband Meola's Lounge for 14 years and also worked for her son at Meola's Catering until her retirement.
Her hobbies include doing floral arrangements, crocheting, cooking, baking and going to dinner with her friends. She loved her family very much and was a member of Sons of Italy of America, Anita Garibaldi Lodge 722 and ISDA.
Survivors include her sons, Mark (Lois) Mazola of Conneaut, Tim Meola of Painesville and Anthony (Roxanne) Meola of Conneaut; grandchildren, Michael Brenkus, Jon Brenkus, Miranda Meola Lozitsky, Anthony Meola and Tiffany Meola; seven great-grandchildren, Mikey, Lindsey, Stuart, Rilay, Michael, Shawn and Vanessa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mark "Doc" Meola; infant grandson, Mark Anthony Meola; granddaughter, Melissa Meola; and a brother, Milford "Fred" Dodge.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 14th, at Saint Joseph Church, with Father Phillip Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., TODAY, April 13th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.
