The remains of Sgt. Norman P. Thompson, son of Albert C. Thompson, Ontonagon, who was killed in action on Leyle Island November 24, 1941 arrived at Ontoangon Tuesday night.
Funeral services held in the Allen Cane funeral Home with Rev. Byron Hatch officiating. The Ontonagon American Legion & Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts will have charge of the Military Service.
Sgt. Thompson was born March 16, 1916 in Ontonagon. He attended local schools and entered the service August 22, 1942.
At the time of death he was serving with the 498th Bomb Squadron of the 345th Group.
Survivors include his father, 2 brothers, Carl & Allen, both of Ontonagon, 2 sisters, Mrs. Donna Ernest o- Ontonagon & Mrs. Beulah Bess - Detroit
