SYLVANIA - Carolyn Stafford Adams, age 74, died Monday, July 5, 2010, Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. She was born in Screven County and was retired from the Torrington Co., where she worked in assembly for 29 years. She was one of 16 children and a member of Jackson Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Herman McMillan; parents, William Jefferson "W.J." and Lozzie Ola Williams Stafford.
Survivors: daughters and son-in-law, Deborah W. and Jimmy Edenfield of Statesboro, Terrie W. DeRoller of Madison, Wis., and Faye P. Cook and James Haire of Statesboro; son and daughter-in-law, Rodger and Cathy Woods of Grovetown, Ga.; sisters and brother-in-law, Luree S. Hodges of Newington, Mattie Bell S. and Gene Dutton of Glennville, Ga., and Maudeen S. Findley of Savannah; brother and sister-in-law, Warren "Spike" and Christie Stafford of Sylvania; adopted sons-by-heart, Johnny Scott of Sylvania and Jerry Walker of Goodman, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service: Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with the Rev. Henry Bazemore, Pastor George Pevey and the Rev. Christopher Anderson officiating. Burial in Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
