Robert Perry Thompson was a stone mason. His father is believed to be Aaron Thompson (1777-ca. 1853) who was also a stone mason and who resided near him in early censuses and his mother Lucy (?). His brother was probably Phillip Thompson who resided with Aaron and Lucy in Orleans County, New York in St. Joseph County, Michigan in 1860 with Robert Perry Thompson.
