Services were July 3 at Sacred Heart Church with burial at Parker Cemetery. The Rev. Theodore Lobo officiated, A wake was held July 2 at Parker Funeral Home, which was in charge of arrangements.
She was born Aug. 14, 1933, in Tannersville, N.Y., to Levi and Sarah Benjamin.
Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Earl Elrod of Parker, Ariz. and formerly of Grand Island; sons, Jack Wilson and Christopher Wilson both of Parker, Ariz.; Patrick Wilson of Donalsville, Ga.; Kevin Wilson of Bullhead, Ariz.; Greg Elrod of San Bernadino, Calif.; daughters, Linda Stokes of Las Vegas, Nev., Debbie Green of Yuma, Ariz., and Denise Akey of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; sisters, Claire McQueeney of Emerson, N.J., Rita McClure of Susanville, Calif., and Eileen Alderson of Carmel, N.Y.; brothers, Charles Benjamin of Clifton, N.J., Leo Benjamin of Syosset, N.Y., Frank Benjamin of Cairo, N.Y. and James Benjamin of Yorkville, N.Y.
Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She married Earl Elrod on Oct. 25, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nev.
She served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1954 before receiving an honorable discharge. She was an employee for the state of Arizona for 15 years before retiring.
She was very active in the community, being involved with organizations such as Fraternal Order of Eagles, past madam president; American Legion Post president and secretary; V.F.W. Post 7061; counselor for the Yuma County Behavioral Health Center; and the Parker 4 Wheelers.
She touches so many people in so many ways with her beauty and grace. She is a loss that will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Wilson; a brother, William Donaghy; and a sister, Marie DeMaio.
