ALBERT AESCHLIMAN, 56, DEIS AT HOME IN DECATUR
Funeral Friday for Native of Berne; Former Local Business Man
Albert (Chick) Aeschliman, 56, of Decatur, a native of Berne and a former local business man, died at his home at 310 Winchester Street, in Decatur, at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday. Death was caused by a heart ailment. He had been critically ill for three weeks and in failing health for two years.
Aeschliman was in the restaurant business in Decatur for many years but had sold his business three years ago. Since then he was employed at the Decatur City Light plant until ill health forced him to quit.
Aeschliman, was born in Berne November 21, 1892, the son of Eugene and Minnie Frank Aeschliman. He was married on June 24, 1914, to Hazel Klopenstine. While living in Berne, he and his only brother, Emil, operated a restaurant and confectionery in the building where Dr. D. D. Jones now has his office. The building was erected by the Aeschliman's father. Later after he dissolved partnership with Emil he operated a confectionary by himself for a few years before moving to Decatur.
Aeschliman was a member of the Zion Evangelical Reformed Church and the Moose Lodge.
Surviving are the widow, Hazel; two sons, Robert and Donald, both of Decatur, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Black Funeral Home in Decatur, Rev. William C. Feller officiating. Burial will be in the M.R. E. Cemetery west of Berne.
