Ignatz Rado was born in Sopron Hungary. He served in the Hungarian Army with the rank of "Hussar". His small stature supported this position as most "Hussar's" were small and placed on large white horses in front of their tropps which rode upon dark colored horses.

He married Julianna Poor in Hungary and they immigrated to America in 1891 and settled in the area of Manhattan in New York City. He was employed as a saddle maker and pocketbook maker while living in New York.

He and Julia had 3 children in New York: Steven George "Pista", Arpad Joseph (-aka- Albert or Red) and Margaret Helen.

They migrated to rural Georgia and settled in the Hungarian community Budapest in Harlason County.

He and Julia had 2 more children after moving: William M. "Bela" and Julia who died at 2 months of age.

Ignatz worked the vineyards and farmed mostly. He died at the age of 50 from injuries suffered in a mining accident and is buried in the Budapest Cemetery next to his infant daughter.
