Mr. Hurley was born in Decatur on Oct. 24, 1922, the son of Bert Ellis and Amy Louise Dobson Hurley. Mr. Hurley served in the Army in World War II in France and Belgium as a medic. He married Aileen Carter in Windsor on June 19, 1949. Surviving are his wife; daughters, Cheryl Hurley of Omaha, Neb.; Pamela Holtkamp and husband Mark of Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Andrew and Colin Holtkamp of Birmingham; sisters, Mary Rose Hooten of Gays; Yvonne Slifer of St. Joseph, Mo.; several cousins.
