"Mrs. Rua Lovejoy died at her home on Church street Sunday, April 14. Rua, daughter of Harvey Boorn, was born in Decatur Nov. 6 1829. Her grandfather, Gardner Boorn, was one of the earliest settlers in that township. In 1849 Rua married Ezra S. Brown. To them were born four children, Jerome, Wallace, Mary and Herbert. In 1864 Mr. Brown enlisted in the 10th N. Y. artillery, serving until the close of the war. He died in 1871. In 1876 Mrs. Brown married James C. Lovejoy, who died in 1899. Since that time Mrs. Lovejoy has lived in her home at Worcester with her oldest son, Jerome. Wallace, the next son, lives in Gloversville, and Herbert, the youngest, in Decatur. She is survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Phoebe Groat of Sharon Springs, Mrs. Betsy Sullivan of Richmondville and George Boorn of Mineville.
