MORRISON, Sam, 70, Ripley, died Monday (Sentinel January 23, 1975) in Tippah County Hospital. He was a retired farmer and member of Chapman Church of Christ. Services were Wednesday at Chapman Church of Christ with burial in Chapman Cemetery. Bro Lester Coats officiated. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge. Survivors include his wife, Inez Chapman Morrison; two sons, Sammy Tyronne Morrison, and Marion Dale Morrison, both of Ripley; three daughters, Mrs. Lavaughn Carmichael, Corinth, Sandra Hopper, Memphis and Joan Berryman, Ripley; three brothers, Tom Morrison, Ripley, Marion Morrison, Rienzi and Euclid Morrison, Lexington, NC; two sisters, Estelle Kilgo, Booneville and Willie Mae Davis, Amory; 14 grandchildren.
In the 1910 census Tippah County, these Morrison children were all born in NC. Thomas 1902, Samuel 1904, Estell 1906, Annie 1907, James Marion 1909, and living in the household of John Morrison and Etta Frances Jones Morrison,both age 26 and married 11 years. In the same household was widow Jane Morrison age 59.
