Camille Ewald was the daughter of Hnat Ewaschuk and Nascaoe Perschychyn Ewaschuck, Galicia, Austria.

Some family members adopted the name Ewald.

Siblings:
Arleigh Ewald D'Amato
Nellie Ewald Stefaniw
Doris Ewald Lukash
Stefanie Ewald Bradley
Stanley Ewaschuck
William Ewaschuck
Marnie Ewald Ackerman.

Camille was a special person and was loved by many who will remember her for her kindness.

Camille and Constantine (Cus) D'Amato invited young men aspiring to be boxers, into their home. Some were orphans, some from broken homes, others came from poor environments without hope for the future.

Camille taught them responsibility by assigning chores and helping in the household, taught them table manners, and encouraged them to study and receive an education.

Cus taught boxing techniques along with discipline, honesty and integrity. He lived as an example, and did not smoke or drink. He encouraged them to read and often bought books to further their education. He wanted them to become successful, whether it was in boxing or any other occupation.

Both Camille and Cus were successful as some became boxing champions, while others went on to achieve in other careers.
