She died on June 24, 2010, at the
Mississippi Care Center in
Greenville from heart failure.

Burial will be in Itta Bena
Cemetery, under the direction
of Williams & Lord Funeral
Home, Greenwood.

She was born in Webster
County on October 13, 1913,
to the late William M. and
Lula Jane Green Peeples. She
was raised in Leflore County
and had resided in Greenville
the past 20 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Itta Bena, a homemaker
and she was preceded in death by her spouse,
William David Smith and a
son, William Douglas Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by
two daughters, Wilna Myers
of Greenville and Jane Rogers
of Magnolia, Ark.; two Sons,
Wayne A. Smith of Portland,
Ore. and Glenn Smith of
Corinth; eight grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren; and
10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 11
a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williams &
Lord Funeral Home, Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be Charles
Reed, Richard Reed, Henry
Starnes, Hoppy Peeples,
Richard Wayne Peeples and
Dennis Smith.

The Rev. Higdon Herrington will officiate.
