Pauline Kaeser, 63, wife of Orval Kaeser, 715 Hillcrest Drive, Berne, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mrs. Kaeser had been ill two months.

A former worker in the Adams County treasurer's office, she also had formerly worked at the Poplar Restaurant in Berne. She was a member of the Cross United Church of Christ, Berne, and the Adams County Democratic Women's Club.

Born January, 16, 1919, in Wells County, she was the daughter of Justus and Della Mae Bouse-Kelly, deceased. She was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Liechty of Berne, who also preceded her in death.

She was married October, 5, 1940, to Orval Kaeser, who survives. Also surviving are one son, John O. Kaeser, Berne; three daughters, Mrs. Tony (Stephanie) Liechty and Mrs. Lynn (Lori) Matthews, both of Berne, and Mrs. Brad (Teresa) Affolder of Decatur; two sisters, Wilma Bennett, Pontiac, Michigan, and Mrs. G. E. (Harriet) Coolman of Lehigh Acres, Florida; and five grandchildren. One son preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cross United Church of Christ, Rev. Robert Kauffman in charge, and burial will be in MRE Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Yager Funeral Home in Berne. Preferred memorials are to the church's assistance fund.
