WIER FAMILY HISTORY (1866) by William Withrow Wier, pp.3-4 (reprinted in Wier-Creekmore Genealogy, 1941): "DAVID STUART WIER removed from So. Ca. to Green(e) County, Alabama in 1828 (Febr'y). He married Anna E. Puckett, daughter of Dabney and Nancy Puckett. Here Thomas D. Wier, his son, Martha K. Wier (who died while a child) and Martha Ann K. Wier, his daughter, were born. In the winter of 1831 he settled in Pickens County (Ala.). Here his wife died in May, 1837. And he married Narcissa B. Winn, daughter of Abner and Lucretia Winn of Tuscaloosa, in August, 1838. In the fall of 1839 he removed to the Southern portion of Sumter County, which is now in Choctaw County. Here Emily H. Wier, Hester E. Wier, Abner S. Wier, James R. Wier, Susan Ella Wier, all children by the second wife, were born. In the winter of 1856 he moved to Settle, near Garlandsville, Jasper County, Mississippi. Here Evie Wier was born. He is a striving active business man and a good farmer."
