George W. Adams, 64-year-old Martinsville citizen, and for the past two years custodian at the county courthouse, died early last night at his home on Wald Street, following a brief illness. He had been in declining health for sometime.
A native of Danville, he moved here about nine years ago with his family from Madison, N.C.
He was a member of Ellsworth Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, and the following children: Mrs. John Cox, Percy, George, Luther and Willie Adams of of this city.
The deceased was the father of Mrs. Thelma A. Campbell, who met instant death several weeks ago as the result of an automobile mishap near Bassett. Two sisters, Mesdames J. R. Lesseles of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Baily Tuck of Lynchburg, and two brothers, R. A. Adams of Portsmouth and Walter G. Adams, Danville, also remain. Funeral services will be held at the home tomorrow. Burial will follow at Leaksville-Spray, N.C.
