NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Laura B. Blue, 85, of North Platte, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away, Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, North Platte. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, North Platte. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Neb. Laura was born Jan. 1, 1925, to Ray and Bertha (Adams) Cooper at Elk Point, S.D. She grew up in Sioux City and attended high school there. On Dec. 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Ralph Edward Blue. They moved to California and lived there for 14 years, moving to North Platte in 1977.
Laura worked as a seamstress and was also employed by the North Platte Public Schools. She enjoyed bowling where she was a member of the 700 Club. She found great enjoyment in her grandchildren whom she adored. Laura is survived by her husband Ralph of North Platte; two sons, Ralph LeWayne Blue of North Platte and Terry Allen (Loretta) Blue of South Sioux City, Neb.; grandchildren, Kim (Harold) Stuart, Darren (Michele) Blue, Annette Marie Blue, April (Justin) Hodges, Andrew, Chris and Breanna Dillenburg, Brenda Scoville; great-grandchildren, Mike and Crystal Engleman, Benjamin, Belle, and Brook Stuart, Michael Blue and Savannah Walton, Riley Brant, Sarah Dillenburg; siblings, Vernon (Bonnie) Cooper, Vivian (Irving) Hiatt, James Cooper, and Jean Goltry, all of North Platte, and Gloria (Willie) Rogers of Erie, Colo.; brother-in-law, Eugene (Norma) Blue; two daughters-in-law, Deb Stuart and Susan Blue, both of North Platte; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Cecil Blue; grandson, Shawn Blue; daughter-in-law, Marie Blue, and three brothers, Lewis, Raymond and Ardell Cooper.
