Ralph E. Blue, 86, formerly of North Platte, passed away April 13, 2012 at the Sutherland Care Center. Ralph was born July 9, 1925 to Sherman and Inez (Kelso) Blue at Sioux City, IA., he was raised and attended school in Sioux City, IA. On December 24, 1943 Ralph was united in marriage to Laura B. Cooper in Sioux City, IA. Ralph joined the U.S. Army March 29, 1944 serving until February 23, 1946. They moved to California then moved to North Platte in 1977. Ralph operated Sandpit Salvage and was a race car enthusiast. Ralph was a lifetime member of the VFW. Survivors include his two sons, Ralph Blue of Las Vegas, NV and Terry (Loretta) Blue of South Sioux City, NE., two daughters-in-law, Deb (Shorty) Stuart and Susan Blue, one brother, Eugene (Norma) Blue of Sioux City, IA., grandchildren, Annette Blue, Kim (Harold) Stuart, Darren (Michele) Blue, April (Justin) Hodges, Andrew Dillenburg, Chris (Misty) Dillenburg, Breanna (Sandy) Derra and numerous great grandchildren, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Cecil, grandson Shawn Blue and 6 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, burial will follow at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery with military honors.
