Funeral services were held August 28, at the United Brethren Church in Castalia for Mary Allen Albright, who passed away August 25. The services were conducted by Rev. L. L. Martin. Burial was in Pleasant View cemetery.

Mary Allen Albright, daughter of Isaac Allen and Catherine Gorman, was born on a farm near Ossian on May 10, 1869 and departed this life at the Decorah Hospital on August 25, 1949, at 8:20 p.m. having attained the age of 80 years.

She received her education in the rural school and grew to womanhood in the home community. On September 3, 1890, she was united in marriage with William Albright of Castalia and together they have spent their 59 years of married life in this community as farmers with the exception of a few years which they lived in Castalia.

Mrs. Albright was a member of the Royal Neighbors Society, the Ossian Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge, and Charter Member of the Embroidery Club.

Her father, mother, several brothers and a sister have proceeded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband and a large number of nieces and nephews.
