Anita (Lavoie) Cormier, 92, of Bristol, widow of Louis Cormier died on her birthday, Thursday (July 29, 2010) at Sheriden Woods. Anita was born in 1918 in Van Buren, ME and was a daughter of the late Leonard and Rose (Lurette) Lavoie. A Bristol resident since 1941, She was employed at Bristol Spring, Plainville, before retiring in 1980. She loved to crochet, staying up late to do her jumble puzzles, and trips to the casino. She was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol. Anita is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Dorothy and Armand Martin and Annette and Jean Dube, all of Bristol; five grandchildren, Joe Lombardo, James, Mark, and Steven Martin, and Lisa Beaudet; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Irene Roy. Funeral services will be held on Monday (August 2, 2010) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Ann Church for celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday between 6 and 8 PM.
