OBITUARY :
DAVID SMITH, retired farmer of near Woodsboro, died of an heart attack at his home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, aged 61 years, one month and three days. He had been in ill health for the past three months.

He was a son of the late John and Mary Susan Zimmerman Smith and was a member of Mr. Zion Lutheran church, Ladiesburg.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Gertrude Smith; son, Norman David Smith, at home; Mrs. Gertrude Robertson, Philadelphia; a granddaughter, Linda R. Robertson; a brother, Simon Smith, near Woodsboro; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Wetzel, Lantz; Mrs. Savilla Bowman, Sabillasville, and Mrs. Zella Manahan, Emmitsburg; a half-brother, William Rogers, New Midway.

The body is at the funeral home in Woodsboro, where friends may call after Friday morning. Short services will be held there Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock (EST) with final rites in Thurmont United Brethren church, conducted by Rev. R. S. Poffenberger.

Interment will be in the United Brethren cemetery, Thurmont. Powell and Hartzler, funeral directors.
