LAYTON H. SMITH, aged 64 years, 10 months and 21 days, died of pneumonia Thursday at 4:20 p.m., at his home in Smithsburg.
He was a member of the Red Men Mineola Tribe, of Leitersburg, and of the Junior Order, Smithsburg.
He's survived by his widow, one son, Walter L., and four grandchildren; one brother, Daniel E., Smithsburg; one sister, Mrs. Celia Smith, of near Thurmont; half brothers and sisters, David, Woodsboro; Simon, Sabillasville; Mrs. Alice Wetzel, Mrs. Jacob Boman, Deerfield, and Mrs. Delia Manahan, of near Fairfield, Pa.
Funeral services will be held today in the Methodist Episcopal Church, meeting at the house at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Lee Williams, pastor o£ the church, will conduct the services. Burial in Smithsburg cemetery.
All friends and relatives are invited without further notice.
