Bernhard (sic) Post, deceased, was born Nov. 9, 1885 at Glenvil, Nebraska. He was baptized as an infant and later instructed and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
On February 9, 1912 he was united in marriage to Miss Eva Sparr (sic), this union being blessed by God in as much as He granted unto them three children, one daughter, Viola, having preceded her father in death.
He followed the occupation of a farmer near Pauline for a number of years. About 12 years ago he retired from farming and made his home in Edgar, but continued to work around Edgar and Clay Center. Last December he became ill and on Feb. 2 of this year he was taken to an Omaha hospital, where on April 18, 1955, at 9:30 in the morning, he answered the Lord's summons, having attained the age of 69 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Those left to mourn his death are one daughter, Mrs. Bernice Buzzell of Culbertson, one son, Harold Post of Clay Center, three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Kruger (sic) of Holyoke, Colo; Mrs. Mattie Gembler of Clay Center; Mrs. Catherine Thaslen (sic) of Hastings; and a brother, John Post of Pauline, Nebr., besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 21, at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church at Clay Center. Services were conducted by Rev. Arnold Hoferer, both at the church and Glenvil cemetery, where the body was laid to rest. Pallbearers were Bruce Thomas, Gilbert Burkett and Elmer Bennett of Edgar and Roy Black, Frank Bourene and Luther Goding of Pauline. The flower girls were Mrs. Ruth Burkett and Mrs. Mildred Thomas.
