Named after his Grandpa Wilson Crail (who married Polly Purdy the Indian captive ransomed by Daniel Boone.) Came via wagon train to Cal in 1852 with parents Greenberry and Hammiel Ann Crail, brother Edward and surviving sister Henretta Crail ( Bibby, Johnson, Zimmerman). Settling in Lancha Plana, Amador Co., in 1855 he later ran a blacksmith Shop and worked on Crail tunnel mining with Dad Greenberry, brother James H. Crail and brothers'in-law the Sheridan boys. Later he did carpentry and served regularly on school board and election boards. In 1904 he married his brother's (James Henry Crail's b. 1855) widow Ella Elizabeth (Sheridan) Crail to help her raise her 8 surviving kids: Sons-Wilson Edward Crail, James Elmer Crail, Henry Eugene Crail, Luther James Crail, Thomas Sheridan Crail and Clarence Greenberry Crail. Daughters- Gertrude Charlotte (Crail) Dukelow and Anne Estell (Crail) Murphy, Kavanaugh. Wife Ella died 1912 of T.B. No issue of this marriage. Wooden markers are remains of Crail family plot containing Mother Hammiel, Father Greenberry, Wife Ella, Brother James Henry, newphews James Elmer and Thomas S. Cause of death: T.B.
