Henry Scheafer
Henry Scheafer, 83, of 308 S 39th St., a retired farmer, died in a local hospital Wednesday at 4:05 a.m. Cause of death was listed as a heart ailment.
Funeral services will be conducted in Smith's Chapel Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ralph W Glenn, pastor of the American Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mountview Cemetery.
Mr. Scheafer was born in Smariy Longenfelt, Russia, on March 15, 1874, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Godlief Scheafer. He migrated to Canada in 1902 and moved to Sugar City, Co., where he married Anna Margaret Wagner in 1903. They moved to Culbertson in 1906, and to Shepherd in 1917. His wife died in Billings on Dec 13, 1945.
Survivors include seven sons, Henry Scheafer of Harlem, David Scheafer of Oregon, John Scheafer of 112 S 33rd St., George Scheafer of Red Lodge, Herman Scheafer of Rt. 3, Billings, August Scheafer of 3216 6th Ave. S and William Scheafer of Rt. 1, Billings, and five daughters, Mrs. Hanna H Neibauer of Chinook, Mrs. Percy Dorr of Sidney, Mrs. Alvin Aders of 623 S 334d St., Mrs. Edward Gavel of Rt. 1, Billings and Mrs. Robert Michael of Rt. 3, Billings.
Other survivors include five brothers and three sisters in Russia, 44 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
