Daughter of Walter D. and Bessie E. Betts.

Wife of Benjamin Franklin Morris, III.

Mother of Lynn M. Banks, Lea Dulin, B. Franklin Morris, and Alice Louise Jester.

Upon graduation from cosmetology school she owned and operated her own beauty shop in Clayton.

Alberta also worked at Diamond Ice and Coal Company, Suburban Propane, and Scott Nursing Home.

In her later years she worked for the Town of Smyrna as a Crossing Guard at the corner of School Lane and Commerce Street for many years.

She was very active as a volunteer and with her political party.

She served as the president of the Citizens Hose Co. No. 1 Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years. Since Dover Fire Company had no organized auxiliary, she was often called upon to assist the Dover Volunteer Fire Company by preparing and serving food and beverages during emergency responses. Her volunteer efforts lead Dover Fire Company to recognize her for her time and commitment by naming her the honorary President of the Dover Fire Company Auxiliary.

Alberta was known around Smyrna and Dover as the person to call when you needed something done.

She cherished the friends she met and helped over the years.
