Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Baptist Chruch for Rhoda May Coley, wife of James R. Conley, who passed away a few weeks ago. Rev J. F. Stille of Council Bluffs was in charge of the service.
Pall bears were Mrs. Rena David, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Rythea Davis, Mrs. Melva Christofersen, Loretta Davis, and Florence Adams, Henderson, and Mrs. Ruth Shaw, Shenandoah.
Mrs. Cora Comer and Mrs. M. D. Scoles were in charge of the flowers. Those who sang were Mrs. W. H. Cramer, Mrs. Ola Farris, Win Castor, and C. D. Greenwood, Mrs. H. E. Greenwood was a the piano.
Rhoday May Conley was born at Salyersville, Kentucky, August 25, 1867. She departed this life, March 29, 1940 at Henderson at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 4 days.
The body was removed to the Comer Funeral Home where it lay in state until the hour of the funeral.
She was united in marriage February 4, 1886 to James R. Conley who preceded her in death 24 days ago.
To this union were born seven children, three dying in infancy. Surviving are Mrs. Art Davis, Henderson; Mrs. S. S. Elliott, Canton, Oklahoma, Oliver Conley, Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. A. L. Echternach, Red Oak. There are 17 grandchildren and nieces great grandchildren.
She united with the Baptist Church early in life.
Burial was in the Emerson Cemetery.
