DEATH OF CHARLESTON SOLDIER CONFIRMED Charleston Ill Thomas Stine has received an official announcement from the War Department confirming the report that his son, Charles Stine, was killed in action in France on July 30. Private Stine, 24, was born in Charleston. He was inducted into the service March 26, 1942, and had been overseas since May. He was member of an airborne division. He leaves his father, his atep- mother, six brothers, a half-brother. a sister and a stepsister.
