He was a former athlete of the Mahaffey High School, active in football, basketball and baseball. He graduated in the spring of 1942 and enlisted in the armed forces. After basic training at Camp Croft, N.C. he was sent to Fort Benning, Ga, for more training and he was retained there as an instructor until March, 1944, when he was moved to Camp Claiborne, La., to compete his training. He embarked for foreign duty in September 1944.
He was Killed in Action near Gereonsweiler, Germany.
