Andrew was the son of Peter and Mary ZALOM KELLEY. He had five sisters, Anna, Julia, Margaret, Susan and Catherine, and five brothers, Mike, George, John, Peter and Joseph, who were also in the service.

Andrew, called "Cakes" by his friends, attended school in Roscoe [Pa] and was employed by the Vesta 4 mine. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was very interested in Soccer.
"Cakes" entered the service on July 25, 1941. He saw action in Northern Africa, Sicily and Southern France
