HERSCHEL M. POINTER, 74, of Kokomo, died at 1:42 AM Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Seton Specialty Hospital, Lafayette, IN. Born November 14, 1935 in Toccoa, GA, he was the son of the late James F. Pointer and Cora Mae (Roberts). He had been employed with Ayrway, retired as assistant Chief of EMA, and most recently with Syndicate Sales. He enjoyed tinkering with lawn mowers and cars, and loved listening to Gaither tapes.
He is survived by two brothers, William Marion (Bobbye) Pointer of Norris, TN and , James R.(Patricia) Pointer of Kokomo; three sisters, Joyce J. Housley of Norris, TN, Rachel Ann (Earl) Paul of Indianapolis, and Sandra (Clifford) Stiner of Kokomo; his fiance' Jeanne Cooper of Kokomo; also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Brenda L. Wilson.
Pastor Mike Rush will officiate the service. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Howard County EMA.
