He was a petty officer second class in U.S. Navy Reserve from Hilliard, FL. He was inducted as a seaman second but moved up the ranks easily. He was the son of Priscilla and William A.Hood and had two older sisters. Last known status was KIA and body unrecoverable. He received the Purple Heart.

Besides his name being on the Tablet of the Missing in the Philippines, it is with honor that Enoch's name is listed on the Nassau County War Memorial at the end of Centre Street on Amelia Island, FL.
