Bert Steindorf Sr., 74, of Poth, Texas, formerly of Alice, Texas, passed away Monday June 5, 2006 in San Antonio, Texas, following a lengthy illness. He was born October 13, 1931 in Weesatche, Texas, to Edwin and Emilie Rose Strakos Steindorf. He resided in Alice, Texas, from 1950 to 1979. While in Alice, he operated an Exxon service station and was a cattle rancher in Webb and Jim Wells and Bee counties for 25 years. Until his illness, he operated an oilfield service company and ranched in Wilson and Bee counties.
Survivors include four sisters, Hilda(Joe)Doreck of Mineral, Helen Beams of Corpus Christi, Susie(Gene)Spaniel of Alice and Carol Ann Steindorf of Alice; two brothers, Roy (Kathi) Steindorf of New Braunfels, Texas, and Larry(Debbie) Steindorf of Alice; daughter Iris Humphreys of Alice; one son, Bert Steindorf Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; two grandchildren, Kelley Whitehorn and Hayden Humphreys; and one great-grandchild, Kamryn Whitehorn.
