George was the oldest of seven children born to Theodore Meiners and Catherine Vonderhaar. On 28 Aug 1912 he married Christina Voll and they had ten children: Cleopha, Lavinia, Doris, George, Mildred, Louis, Mary, Anthony, Imelda and Francis. He worked in the dairy industry for most of his life. George died of a coronary occlusion at his home, 1433 Texas Avenue, at the age of 57.
