John's will dated April 6, 1778, Bedford Co. VA, probated and signed by examiners,Henry Jeter and Bartholomew Stovall, Aug. 1778 is shown in Bedford Co. VA Wills pp. 513-516. The will names his wife, Elizabeth, sons, Bartholomew, John, Barns, and Ezekiah; daughters, Mary Robinson, Elizabeth, Delilah, and Ann Stovall.
Elizabeth Stovall comes into court and contests the will and de c'd "On consideration whereof she is allowed 1/3 part of the said decedents estate after the debts are paid.
