Jabez Hatch, only recognized son of Nathaniel Hatch and Bathshua Davis, born per his gravestone AFTER Feb. 15, 1716/17 probably at Falmouth, Mass. He died unmarried at Barnstable, Mass. Feb. 15, 1737/38, Æ 21 (g.s.)

Jabez was undoubtedly named for his maternal grandfather, Jabez Davis, who died testate in late 1710 at Barnstable, Mass. His parents m. of record Feb. 5, 1712/3 at Falmouth, Mass., but what happened to the parents has never been uncovered. Jabez's mother Bathshua was dead by 1736 when his maternal grandmother Experience (Linnell)(Davis) Hatch wrote her will at Barnstable: "I give & bequeath unto my four Grandchildren viz. Ellis [q.v. Alice] Hatch, Elizabeth Hatch, Experience Hatch & Jabez Hatch, Children of my Daughter Bathshua Hatch deceased, one shilling to each of them."

Jabez had the following three sisters, presumably all born at Falmouth, Mass., but neither Jabez nor his sisters have a recorded date of birth or baptism at Falmouth or adjoining Barnstable:

• i. Alice (g.v. Ellis) Hatch, b. circa 1714; was living Dec. 16, 1736, presumably at Barnstable, Mass., when included on that date in her maternal grandmother's will, but no further record has yet been uncovered regarding her.

• ii. Elizabeth Hatch, b. AFTER Sept. 19, 1715, d. Sept. 19, 1806 at Middletown, Mass. g.s.); m. Jan. 5, 1741/2 of record at Middletown, Conn., Asahel Dudley, s. of Capt. William Dudley and Ruth Strong, b. June 7, 1719 at Guilford, Conn. He d. Dec. 31, 1808 at Middletown, Conn. (g.s.) Ten children of the family.

• iii. Experience Hatch, b. AFTER May 14, 1722, d. May 14, 1789 at Springfield, Mass. (g.s.); m. 1) Dec. 24, 1741 of record at the East Barnstable Cong. Ch., John Robinson, probably the s. of John Robinson, Jr. (John, Isaac, Rev. John) and Mary Lumbert, b. circa 1718 at Barnstable. He d. on an unrecorded date and place during the 1740s possibly at Tolland, Conn.; one known child, s. John, bapt. of record Nov. 7, 1742 at the East Barnstable Cong. Ch. and d. at age 17 of record Nov. 4, 1760 at Albany, NY. Experience m. 2) as his 2nd wife per the intention pub. Dec. 28, 1751 at Springfield, Mass., calling her then of Tolland, Conn., Aaron Parsons, s. of Daniel Parsons and Abigail Cooley, b. June 2, 1712 at Springfield, Mass. He d. of record at Springfield Aug. 4, 1795 (g.s.) There are no recorded children of this 2nd marriage.
