Floyd A. “Peck” Arnold, 70, of Route 4, Decatur, a prominent Kirkland Township farmer, died at 5:35 p.m. Thursday at the Caylor-Nickel Clinic in Bluffton. Mr. Arnold was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren and the Plus Ultra Sunday School class of the church.
Born in Adams County on October 7, 1907, he was the son of Charles and Suzannah Johnson-Arnold, and was united in marriage on February 2, 1929 to Lela Schlickman, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jim, Route 4, Decatur; Darrel, Route 2, Decatur; Harold, Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Lewellyn (Margaret) Stucky, Berne; Mrs. Naomi Bieberich, Route 2, Decatur; three brothers, John, Route 4, Decatur; Frank, Decatur; Luther, Route 2, Decatur; 10 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Dwight Hargett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Winteregg-Linn & Haggard Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Saturday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time.
