Thomas Green Alvey Sr was born in 1750 in St. Mary's County, Maryland. He was the son of Leonard Alvey (1701 MD - 1774 St. Mary's Co, MD) and Jane Payne (1705 MD - 1770 St. Mary's Co. MD). He married Monica Tewell on 14 May 1789, in Nelson County, Kentucky. He married 2nd in 1792 to Elizabeth Mitchell. He registered for military service in 1778. He died on 12 February 1824, in Perry County, Indiana at the age of 81, and was buried in Tobinsport, Tobin Township, Perry County, Indiana.
