The remains were removed to the Mundle & Ellinger funeral home and later will be taken to the residence of his brother, Will H. McConnell, 2123 West Grand avenue, south.
DeWitt McConnell was born in this city April 17, 1888. He was reared and educated in Springfield. Five years ago he moved to Chicago where he had resided up to the time he was taken ill one year ago. In Chicago he was a salesman for the Triangle Motors. Decedent is survived by his father, Edward O. McConnell, one brother, Will H. McConnell, business manager of the Illinois State Journal; two sisters, Miss Luella McConnell of Chicago and Mrs. George Brunk of St. Louis, and two nieces, Betty Lou and Dorothy Jane Brunk, also of St. Louis.
