Mrs. J. O. Graham
Mrs. Ella Scott Graham, formerly of Delhi, La., died at the Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital July 15 after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, at 2 p.m. at Lee's Chapel with the Rev. George Curtis officiating. Graveside services were conducted at the Starkville Cemetery Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. Bob Walkup of Starkville.
Mrs. Graham was born at Carthage in Leake County February 27, 1877. She was graduated from the old French Camp Academy. On October 12, 1899, she married James Ollie Graham and they lived in Carthage, Belzoni, Leland and Sardis where he was an operator of lumber mills. Since 1932 they had lived in Delhi where he was a farmer and gin operator, until January, 1956, when they came to Winona and have lived with their daughter, Mrs. V. K. Ahlrich, and Mr. Ahlrich. She was a member of the Delhi Methodist Church and was always active in church work.
She is also survived by two other daughters, Mrs. W. W. Hull of Spartanburg, S.C., and Mrs. H. S. Johnson of Tehran, Iran, formerly of State College; two sons, S. A. Graham, Eudora, Ark. and T. 0. Graham, Panama City, Fla.
Pallbearers were Clarence Oliver, Cecil Simpson, C. Y. Butts, Joe Willie Herring, Cecil Barnett and Kermit Wright.
