Death came last Thrusday evening about 5 p.m. at Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Albertus (Bert) Boggs, 74, a former resident of Douglass. Bronchial pneumonia was the cause of death.
His body was brought to Douglass by Glen Hilyard and Ralph Boggs and funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Hilyard Funeral Home. Burial was in the Douglass Cemetery.
Bert Boggs, son of Martin V. and Mary E. Boggs, was born in Churubusco, Indiana, in 1874. In 1883 the family came to Kansas and located on a farm near Douglass, whre he grew up. In 1907 he went to New Mexico and has lived there since. He had been a farmer all his life.
Bert was not married. He leaves two brothers, Walter and Ralph of Douglass; four sisters, Mrs. Edith Bates of Augusta; Goldie Boggs and Mrs. Florence Smith, of Pasadena, Calif.; and Mrs. Elsie Sutton of Culver City, Calif.
