McSwain was killed in action in defense of his country in the South West Pacific area, December 25. Besides his mother he leaves a brother Lenard McSwain of Ridgeway; Mrs. Elmo Chessey of Missouri; Mrs. Ethel Griffin, Spartanburg, and Mrs. McGll Lovingood, Gaffney.
