Harold Adair, Jr., 64, of Oklahoma City, Okla., died Dec. 14, 2003.
Mr. Adair was the son of Harold Sr. and Laura Edie Adair, born June 17, 1939. He spent most of his childhood in Iowa. He went to school in Silver City. In 1956, he joined the Air Force Military Service. He served in the military over 20 years. Much of that time was spent overseas. He received many honors and medals. He served in the Vietnam war, which contributed to his illness. Mr. Adair was married in 1957, and to this union two daughters were born. He married Janet York in 1970, and they were blessed with a daughter and a son. After retirement, Mr. Adair enjoyed the home the built on the Kiamichi mountains in Oklahoma. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the great outdoors. He later moved to Oklahoma City, spending many hours on the golf course, writing, singing songs and playing the guitar. He enjoyed traveling to Nevada, Colorado and Iowa. He was a caring and sympathetic person always trying to help those unable to help themselves.
Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Lawrence (Tony). He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters Joy Stewart and husband Brett, Shirley Sharratt and husband Dave and Katherine Prock and husband Robin; son Robert and wife Dannell; grandchildren Sarah Stewart; Gary, Robert and Elizabeth Sharratt; and Robbie and Loren McAllister; great-grandchildren Evan, Dakato and Harmony Sharratt; mother Laura Adair; sisters Elsie Hoffman, Phyllis Boyer and husband Jim, Elizabeth Barnes and husband Bill of Silver City, Joann Mayne of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sharon Hurst and husband Charlie of Sevierville, Tenn.; sister-in-law Verla Adair of Malvern; nieces and nephews Terry Adair and wife Karen, Rex Adair and wife Kim, Cheryl Penry and husband Dennis, Lou Ann Squire and husband Kenny, Diane Hoffman, Debra FuTay and husvand David, David Mayne, Michael Mayne, Susan Vanderpol: and husband Dan, Becky Decker and husband Terry, Brian Miller and Megan, Teresa Fernald and husband Shawn, Laura Gaines and husband Tony, Jim Boyer Jr., Tami Watson and husband Greg, Greg Stewart and wife Wendy and John Hurst; great-nieces and nephews Amanda, Amy and Amber Adair; Kristen and Jay Penry; Jeffrey and Justin Livengbod; Tyler, Danny, Laura and Connell Vanderpol; Joshua and Heather Decker; and Logan and Shelby Watson; and many friends.
