Obit from The Evening Republican, Columbus, Indiana dated Wednesday 15 Apr 1964:

A Cummins Engine company employee for 18 years, Mr. Wells retired recently and was self employed as a salesman for advertising materials. He belonged to the local Church of Christ.

He was born in Columbus, Nov. 13, 1891, to Simpson and Alice Kennedy Wells, and married the former Miss Pearl McClosky, Dec 2, 1909. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Arthur K. Wells of 2515 Maple street; four daughters, Mrs. harold P. Gould of route 5, Mrs. Jack Quearry of Edwardsburg, Mich., Mrs. Robert Shumaker of 3531 Arlington drive, and Mrs. John Currey of Princeton, Ky.; four brothers, Charles Wells of Indianapolis, J.O. Wells of Peru, J.K. Wells of Sarasota, Fla., and Walter Wells of Houston, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Kyte of LaHavre, Calif, Mrs. Mary Seelee of Connersville and Mrs. Basil Ailstock of Portsmouth, Ohio, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Reed funeral home. Reader Clifford Weldy of the Christian Science church will conduct the rites. Burial will be at Garland Brook.
