Sterling Price Parker was born 29 MAR 1862 Hiwasse, Benton, Arkansas to parents William Parker Arminda Hickenbottom . On June 7, 1885 in Benton County, Arkansas, Sterling married Emma Higgins, sister of Mena Belle Higgins They were the parents of ten children, one of which died in infancy. The children were all born and raised in Hiwasse, Benton, Arkansas. Sterling died 29 May 1936 Hiwasse, Benton, Arkansas.

He is buried at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Hiwasse, Benton, Arkansas, next to his wife Emma Higgins

A family story passed down : Sterling Price Parker would hide when the government came around. ( It has been said Sterling and his dad William Parker had some illegal stills hidden on the farm)

One day someone came around asking if this is where Sterling Price Parker lived, his wife, Emma Higgins, replied no one here but Tobe. That was the name of the family dog. The nickname stuck and from then on Sterling Price Parker was called Tobe.
